Project Galle 2005 – Lead Agency For Drainage
Under an agreement made with UNOCHA, Galle district WATSAN committee and other relevant agencies, PG05 have been made ‘lead agency’ for drainage within the Galle district
 

Green Market
Galle has been a trade centre for centuries, exporting tea, rubber, coconut oil, cloves, and other products of the surrounding region

 

Permanent Housing
Constructing new concrete block permanent houses and partially rebuilding damaged houses is also an ongoing need.
 

Goals For Galle
To renovate, recreate and improve three school sports fields and facilities that were damaged or destroyed by the tsunami

School Rejuvenation
The tsunami inevitably caused extensive damage to the grounds of many of the coastal schools. Salt was deposited in the soil in high concentration, killing all but the toughest vegetation.
